Introduction & Background

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background before joining the SDET Master Class?

I hold a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Technology in Software Engineering. After completing my B.Tech, I worked as a manual tester at TCS 🏢 for almost four years.

During my career, I’ve gained experience in manual and functional testing. Though I had some exposure to scripting, I hadn’t built a framework from scratch, which left me feeling a bit underconfident. While I was already doing Java training ☕, I later started working with mainframe systems and Selenium WebDriver, mainly on banking-related projects.

The Initial Struggle

What challenges were you facing that led you to explore automation testing?

I found coding a bit hectic, especially since my interest was more testing-oriented. In the mainframe environment, I often felt out of my depth. During job interviews, I realized that many companies expected developer-level insights—something I wasn’t used to since testers often relied on pre-written scripts from developers at TCS.

How did you find the SDET Master Class, and what made you choose it?

I came across the course on LinkedIn, thanks to a friend connected to Jatin. The roadmap covered everything 🗺️ I needed in one place, and I saw many positive posts from students who benefited from it. After speaking with Jatin, I was confident it was the right choice, especially since I was serving my notice period and wanted to use the time productively.

One of my friends who completed the course even got a job at an MNC, which boosted my confidence further 🚀.

Expectations vs. Reality 🎯

What were your initial expectations from the course?

My main goal was to switch from manual testing to automation. I wanted a course with hands-on mentorship 👐 and interview preparation. Since I had zero knowledge of automation, I was looking for classes that could boost both my knowledge and confidence 💪.

Did the course meet or exceed your expectations?

It exceeded my expectations. Jatin’s one-on-one guidance until I cracked the interview was invaluable. Whenever I had questions, he was always available to explain things—even multiple times. His support made me realize my potential.

Building the Framework & Resume Impact 📑

Can you describe your experience building a full automation framework during the course?

Building a framework from scratch was one of the most valuable experiences. Adding the project to my GitHub portfolio caught recruiters’ attention and gave me an edge during interviews 🎯.

Support & Community

How did the mentorship and community help you stay motivated?

Jatin’s community of students 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 offered continuous support, and his personal mentorship was especially motivating 💬. Whenever I felt stuck, Jatin was there to guide me back on track.

Career Transformation

How has your career changed since completing the SDET Master Class?

The course boosted my knowledge and confidence 📊. I started from scratch but now feel comfortable working on various tools and technologies 🛠️. It even helped me secure a QA role at Comscore 🏢 with a 100% salary hike 💸.

How did the course help you during your job search and interviews?

The knowledge, skills, and framework project 🛠️ from the course stood out in interviews. When I mentioned in my resume that I am learning SDET, recruiters started showing interest in my profile. On top of that, Jatin’s interview tips 🎯 and personalized guidance were game-changers, helping me prepare thoroughly.

What advice would you give someone considering the SDET Master Class?

What tips do you have for those transitioning from manual to automation testing?
